Funding available in CityFibre’s Gigabit Cities: Aberdeen, Bristol, Coventry, Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield and York

CityFibre have long been highlighting the woeful lack of Gigabit connectivity across the UK so we’re really excited by the recent launch of a new Gigabit Voucher scheme by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS). The scheme is the first of its kind that actively encourages businesses to look at speeds up to 1000Mbps and re-enforces a number of step changes in the connectivity industry.

What is the scheme?

SMEs in select regions across the UK can now apply for up to £3000 in grant funding to get a Gigabit capable connection installed – giving their business broadband a Gigabit boost.

Businesses based in Aberdeen, Bristol, Coventry, Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield and York are now able to secure a FREE connection to their local full-fibre network, built and operated by CityFibre.

Why use your voucher for full-fibre?

Full-fibre uses a fibre connection the entire length of the journey. That means no copper wires and virtually no slowdown in speeds or drops in quality.

If you rely on an internet connection which is barely fast or resilient enough to ‘get by’, then your business is going to struggle to keep up with competitors and be endlessly constrained by the burden of sluggish connectivity. Full-fibre has an immediate impact on a business’s productivity, efficiency and bottom line while unlocking new opportunities and future proofing businesses for tomorrow. It is a truly limitless service, designed to give businesses the flexibility to reach their full potential.

Every company will have different ambitions, but the need for robust digital infrastructure enabled by full-fibre is fundamental for business success. Ultrafast full-fibre broadband isn’t just a ‘nice to have’ – it is a necessity.

Who can apply?

Businesses eligible to apply for a Gigabit Voucher must employ no more than 249 people, have an annual turnover below £50m and/or balance sheet below £43m. The business must also not be a subsidiary and/or under the control of a larger SME entity.

How do I get connected?

CityFibre have partnered with a number of local resellers to deliver Gigabit connectivity in your region. Register your interest and one of our partners will be in touch to help you get started.
