Huddersfield – the UK’s first Gigabit Town.

CityFibre delivers next-generation full-fibre connectivity to businesses and the public sector.

Offering an opportunity to transform the way businesses, schools and councils operate, the Gigabit Huddersfield network provides ultrafast internet connectivity up to 100 times faster than the national average.

The Huddersfield network originally launched in 2014 connecting Kirklees council sites, now the full-fibre network services over 200 customers across the public and private sector, revolutionising public services and enabling business growth.

In the private sector, some of the town’s most influential organisations were the first to realise the benefits of full-fibre connectivity including international manufacturer Polyseam, the 3M Innovation Centre and Huddersfield Town Football Club. Businesses across the town can now connect to the network via Yorkshire-based service providers Abzorb, Diva Telecom and NGC Networks.
