Network Projects

5 Million

Homes by 2025

Fibre footprint

From Auld Reekie to the Granite City, our networks are powering homes, public sector sites and businesses throughout Scotland.

Putting the 'power' into the Northern Powerhouse, CityFibre has a major presence in the North. It is also home to one of our flagship Gigabit City projects in York.

Home to 9 major metros and over 600km of long distance network, the central region accounts for our largest fibre footprint.

Our network presence in the south is growing fast with FTTH network builds in Southend-on-Sea and continual footprint extensions in Bristol.

Connecting the UK to full fibre

CityFibre is transforming Britain's digital landscape, investing in dense full-fibre networks across the country.

Our 5 million premises rollout is already in plan or build in 26 cities, with more to be announced. We are looking to connect almost every home and business in each of these cities, giving the community access to gigabit speed connections over symmetrical, reliable networks.

Network growth and Design:

Our network continues to expand thanks to on-demand extension of existing networks and the launch of new Gigabit Cities, and our Fibre to the Home (FTTH) city projects.

It’s capacity rich and fit for the future, with a core network capable of supporting every home, business, school, mobile and public site with unlimited capacity on day one.

Flexible ring based architecture that’s robust by design with no unnecessary exchange routing.

Key features

  • Carrier neutral facilities
  • Diverse inter-city connections
  • Tier 1 IP Services Provider
  • Own PoP locations
  • Ultra-low latency
  • Carrier class network resilience
  • Proven reliability record

Long-distance network (LDN)

Our LDN connects many metro networks to peering points in London, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. It also reaches over 90 datacentres along the way.

Simple, distance-based LDN pricing and true commercial flexibility offers a cost-effective way to take control of your inter-city fibre connectivity.

Metro networks

We have 50+ major metro footprints across the UK, with presence in over 60 towns and cities in total.

Simple on-net pricing and a postcode checker ensure maximum price certainty. If a site is off net, we’ll consider extending on demand, with cost sharing often available.
