- Consumer ISP Air Broadband to offer Full Fibre broadband services over CityFibre’s networks in Chester, Preston, Blackpool and seven other locations later this year
- Expansion follows the successful launch of services in Ipswich, Cambridge, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds earlier this year, and Derby on June 21
28 June, 2021: CityFibre has announced a major expansion of its partnership with Air Broadband, which will see the residential ISP and smart home specialist extend its Full Fibre broadband services to hundreds of thousands more homes over 10 new CityFibre networks.
The announcement builds on Air Broadband’s successful launch of gigabit Full Fibre broadband services to people in Ipswich, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Lowesoft over CityFibre’s state-of-the-art networks this year. Services went live in Derby on June 21.
Strong consumer demand and take-up has now triggered the expansion of its rollout to people in Solihull, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Chester, Worcester, Preston, Blackpool, Derby, Norwich and Nottingham over the coming months.
Air Broadband joins a growing number of regional and local ISPs to offer affordable, reliable and symmetrical gigabit-speed Full Fibre broadband to local communities over CityFibre’s rapidly expanding national network.
CityFibre’s nationwide build programme is expected to be substantially completed by 2025 and will address approximately a third of the UK market including at least 8 million homes, 800,000 businesses, 400,000 public sector sites and 250,000 5G access points.
Rob Hamlin, CityFibre’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We’re delighted that Air Broadband has chosen CityFibre and our networks to support the expansion of its Full Fibre broadband services.
