The ability to provide truly resilient, high-bandwidth connectivity is vital for co-location and enterprise data centres. A fibre connection from an independent infrastructure provider like us gives greater customer choice and the potential for completely diverse routing.

Over the last ten years, organisations across all sectors have become increasingly reliant on access and transport of digital data. So much so that any data loss or inability to access it (even for a short time) can be catastrophic – impacting revenues, reputation and in some cases survival.

Our dark fibre network already connects to over 90 data centres nationwide - a number that will grow as we do.

This dynamic, along with the need to be more energy efficient, has driven more and more organisations to consolidate and protect their data in enterprise or co-location data centres, where uninterrupted power and a choice of robust, full fibre connections form the backbone on which everything else relies.

Our metro and long distance dark fibre networks are completely independent from other providers making them perfect for the job. Our network is already connected to over 90 UK data centres, with many more easily addressable via network extension. We also have connections to peering points in London, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

As part of our well-planned city approach, we aim to build and ensure all nearby existing and planned data centres are brought on net from day one.

Within metro areas, our ‘well-planned’ city approach automatically puts most local data centres on or near net. For others and for new data centres we can either make a commercial case to extend our network or discuss cost sharing options.

When it comes to decision making we can move fast – in most cases within an hour of visiting a site. We can also ensure our installed fibre connectivity solution routes independently to all other providers – entering the site at an entirely different location if desired.
